St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis FC has announced the signing of midfielder Tony Walls for the 2017 season, pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Walls was born in Wauwatosa, WI and played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay from 2008-2011. He also played for USL PDL club Michigan Bucks during the 2011 season where he made 11 appearances and scored one goal. Walls was drafted in the third round—47th overall—of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft by Chicago Fire before joining the Rochester Rhinos of the USL in 2014. He would make 61 appearances and score five goals during the 2014-2016 seasons in Rochester, where he won the club’s “Best Defender of the Year” award as the Rhinos let in the second-fewest amount of goals in the league during the 2014 season. Walls was also the captain and MVP of the team that would win the USL Championship in 2015. He scored four goals and provided two assists during the championship season and was named to the 2015 All-League Team for his accomplishments.
