Soccer fans and athletes are invited to visit America’s tallest manmade monument, the Gateway Arch. At 630 feet tall and 630 feet wide, the Arch has beckoned visitors to St. Louis for more than 50 years with its iconic, awe-inspiring shape. Designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen, the Gateway Arch commemorates Thomas Jefferson and St. Louis’ role in the westward expansion of the United States. Along with the Old Courthouse, it makes up the over 90-acre Jefferson National Expansion Memorial national park. Visitors to the Arch can enjoy the Journey to the Top tram ride; the award-winning documentary Monument to the Dream, which chronicles the construction of the Arch; and shop for Arch gifts and memorabilia at The Arch Store.

The Arch is currently undergoing a $380-million renovation to enhance the visitor experience for decades to come. This construction project is nearly complete. Visitors can enjoy newly renovated park grounds and Mississippi Riverfront, which include accessible slopes down to the riverfront, and a redesigned Luther Ely Smith Square and Kiener Plaza. The museum below the Arch is currently closed for renovations.
