ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The potential pairings for the Third Round of the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup have been announced which will see Saint Louis FC host the winner of El Paso Locomotive (USL Championship) vs. Forward Madison FC (USL League One) on May 29th should the club defeat Des Moines Menace in the Second Round. Saint Louis FC will face Des Moines at Cownie Soccer Park on Wednesday, May 15th at 7:30 p.m. CT which will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Saint Louis FC hosted Des Moines Menace in 2015 and won 2-1 on the way to advancing to the Fourth Round to face Sporting KC. Should El Paso Locomotive win their Second Round match, it will be the first meeting between the two clubs as El Paso joined the USL Championship this season. If Forward Madison FC advances, it will be a rematch of a preseason meeting in which Saint Louis FC won 1-0 with the lone goal scored by Kadeem Dacres on March 2nd. The Third Round winners will face Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs in the Fourth Round on June 11-12th with the Fourth Round draw taking place on May 30th.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 105 consecutive years dating from 1914. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
