By Saint Louis FC, 10/15/17, 4:00PM CDT

Bethlehem, PA – Saint Louis FC drew 1-1 with Bethlehem Steel FC in front of 3,010 at Goodman Stadium in Week 32 of the USL Regular Season.

Saint Louis FC opened the scoring in the 34th minute as Sebastian Dalgaard pounced on a poor clearance to take the lead.  Bethlehem would answer within the next minute, however, as Matt Real dribbled beyond the defense and saw his shot go under Devala Gorrick to equalize.  The result means Bethlehem Steel FC finish in 8th place in the Eastern Conference to face top-placed Louisville City FC in the first round of the USL Playoffs while Saint Louis FC finishes the season in 12th place with 36 points.

Saint Louis FC started well in the first ten minutes with most of the possession but Bethlehem had the first goal scoring opportunity in the 15th minute as Cory Burke was played behind the defense but shot his effort wide.  Saint Louis looked to play on the counter and had a good chance in the 28th minute as Daniel Jackson ran onto a long ball from Emmanuel Appiah but his shot went straight to Jake McGuire to make the save.  Dalgaard would break the deadlock in the 34th minute after the ball bounced kindly for him to poke past McGuire after some poor communication by the Bethlehem defense.  The home side would respond with a goal of their own in the 35th minute as Real picked up the ball in the midfield and created space to fire past Gorrick to see both sides level going into halftime.

The second half started with a pair of Saint Louis FC substitutions as Jack Maher made his full professional debut to replace Octavio Guzman after the break.  An injury to Erick Cabalceta forced another early substitution which saw Ivan Mirkovic come on in the 51st minute.  The best chance for either side came in the 81st minute as Burke cut inside his defender and blasted his shot off the post.  Neither side could find the winner and the match would finish 1-1 in the last game of the 2017 USL Season for Saint Louis FC.
