ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced the signing of midfielder Lewis Hilton, pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval upon receipt of his visa.
Hilton was born in Truro, England and played collegiately at Young Harris College in Georgia for the 2012-2015 seasons. He made 80 appearances and scored 25 goals with 30 assists during his career and was named a two-time NSCAA All-American. Hilton also played for the Ocala Stampede during the 2014-2015 USL PDL seasons and made 34 appearances with 11 goals scored. He signed with the Charlotte Independence in January 2016 and would make 57 appearances and score seven goals over the 2016-2017 USL seasons.
“I’m delighted to have Lewis signed as he is a really technically-gifted central midfield player that should compliment the other midfielders with his creativity,” said Anthony Pulis, STLFC Head Coach. “Lewis has a good range of passing, excellent delivery from set pieces, and possesses the mentality and drive to fit in with the rest of the squad.”
“I’m excited to be joining Saint Louis FC for the 2018 season,” said Hilton. “Anthony has put a very strong squad together and I cannot wait to contribute to the group. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and to play in front of the fans, especially the St. Louligans.”
